Maybelline Eye Studio Cream Eyeshadow Trio Review

On my previous post I said that my cousin gave me her brand new makeup because she doesn't use it, aside from the physicians formula mascara duo she also gave me two eyeshadows one from wet n' wild and the other one is Maybelline Eye Studio Cream eyeshadow trio in Blue Freeze. I tried cream eyeshadow  before but I'm not fond of using them because they crease badly due to the  weather condition here in the Philippines. Though cream eyeshadow tend to crease and doesn't last long there is still a way on how to set it by using a same color powder eyeshadow on top of it, doing this will make the staying power of cream eyeshadow longer and prevent it from creasing.

Maybelline Eye Studio Cream Eyeshadow Trio is soft, pigmented and blendable, it is advisable to use fingers for applying it instead of brush because you cannot blend it well with brush.

I love it's metallic color so much and I think the three colors are perfect combination for an eye look. I really love to use this eyeshadow but too bad I don't have the matching powder color for it but once I got the matching color I will definitely try it to see if it will still crease or not!

Pros:
  • The color combination is perfect!
  • You can ditch the brushes
  • It blends well
  • Cheap for US price, but I don't know the price here in the Philippines
Cons
  • It creases
  • not advisable for those who have oily lids
  • Not designed for long wear
  • Not for those who are not fond of using fingers

Halloween Nail Art Design 3: Bloody Night

Oh Hello there! This is my third and last halloween nail art design, it is called Bloody Night. With the new nail art tool that I bought creating this design is now easier than my previous designs, the brush and the dotting tool help a lot unlike before when I am using the back of my brush to make a dot. By the way I know that the design isn't perfect, I am still practicing so that I can make a better nail art next time! :)

Halloween Nail Art Design 2 : Oh My Ghost!

Finally I'm done with my second halloween nail art and this time it is a ghost design, it is very easy to do and needs just two color to make, if you have a dotting tool then it will be easier to create this design but if you don't (just like me haha) you may use an improvised dotting tool like hairpin with rounded tip or the end of your nail art brush just like what I used in creating this design.

Here is the photo of my 2nd halloween nail art. If you want to recreate this design just watch the video below  and follow the steps. Enjoy! :)

Halloween Nail Art Design 1: Pumpkin

October is almost ending which means we are about to experience Halloween aka All Hallows' Eve, to spice up the upcoming event I decided to make different Halloween nail art designs. The first design that I made is pumpkin since it is the most common Halloween symbol.

These are the nail polish which I used to create my pumpkin design. The one on left is a regular polish in Kohl and the one on right is a regular polish in Salmon.

If you want to see how I created this design just watch the video below.

Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Mascara Duo in Green Eyes

The first thing I did this sembreak was to go back to my hometown and register as a voter, I stayed there for four days but I was just at home chatting with my cousins. My cousins love makeup too but not as much as I do, one of them doesn't use makeup at all so she gave me her mascara that she received from her mom in US. Physicians Formula is not locally available here in the Philippines so I am really happy to have my first PF product, courtesy of my cousin!

The tube contains two colors; one end is black and the other end is pewter (grayish silver). The pewter color of this mascara is supposed to enhance green eyes but mine are not green hahaha maybe that's why I don't see much difference when I used it!

The brush of black mascara is really big I don't think it is a good idea to use it on lower lashes hahaha. This mascara is not waterproof it can easily wash off with splash of water so if you're going to watch drama movies this is not the best option because you will get out of the movie house with raccoon eyes. Though it is not waterproof the good thing is it is smudge proof, I road test it on my way back and I arrived in manila without black smudge. :)

The pewter brush is smaller than the black one. I tried this color but it doesn't have different effect, it looks faded black on my lashes.

Below are the photos of me wearing the black mascara. I don't have a picture of the pewter one!

As you can see above it doesn't give much volume but it adds length. One thing I noticed is that it doesn't have special eye enhancing effect like what its name claims, it is just a typical mascara for me except the other end is colored :)

Angry Birds Nail Art

Hi! I'm back with my second nail art and the design is one of the famous angry birds :) Honestly I am not fan of that video game but the bird characters are cute so I chose it as my nail art design. I watched a lot of tutorials from Youtube including this one and I think this is the easiest so I tried it on my own and I did not fail hahaha! If you want to create this design on your own nails just watch the video below. : )

September Goodness with Virginia Olsen Brushes

September has been good to me ever since the day I was born because it is my birth month but aside from that this year's month of September showered me with a lot of blessings from its very first day up until its last day! The 30th day was the one which surprised me a lot because I wasn't expecting anything that day in fact I was a bit sad because my favorite month was already ending. I was shocked when @Virginia_Olsen tweeted me saying that I won eye brushes from them weeeheee I never won any giveaway this is the first time so it means a lot :)

So now let me present you the brushes, the time I opened the package and saw these brushes I already knew that they are soft without touching it, how? It's obvious haha! The bristles are fine and don't look scratchy so I guessed that they are soft and they didn't disappoint me, they are really soft! They are hypo-allergenic so they are safe to use but aside from being soft and safe these brushes are great in picking up pigments despite they are synthetic because I read a lot of reviews that natural animal hair brushes pick up more pigments than synthetic brushes do.

Another reason to love these brushes are their handle, they look mighty with this handle! These natural bamboo handles are 100% ECO friendly because they have a low impact on our planet as they are highly sustainable resources.

Eyeshadow Brush - this brush is small, stiff and flat, it is perfect for applying eye shadow all over the lid because its flatness will give smooth finish and more intense color than fluffier brush.

Blending Brush - this is my favorite among the four because it is versatile! because of its fluffiness it blends multiple color perfectly and softens dramatic edges and fine lines thus it gives more natural look, it can also be used to create depth to crease and outer corner of the eye.

Concealer Brush - This is the concealer brush that I'm looking for!  It has a good size and shape, it is  soft and firm, and it doesn't give streaky lines and blends the concealer well.

Angled Eyeliner Brush/Brow Brush - I haven't tried using it as an eyeliner brush but I think it would be good  since it is really thin but I have tried using it as brow brush it's good but it took time filling my brows since it is thin.

False Lashes: Maybelline Falsies Mascara Review

I was in Makati to have my haircut when I noticed the ongoing sale in the landmark, I have no plans of buying anything but when I saw that this mascara is 20% off I immediately grabbed it and head to the counter so for short this one is an impulse buy. aww. oh my poor wallet. :(

This is not my first false lash effect mascara, I had my Max Factor False Lash Effect before and if I am going to choose between them I'll go for Max Factor but Falsies has a lot to offer though. It has the same consistency with Max factor,it lasts the whole day without smudging, it doesn't clamp on me and despite it is waterproof I still find it very easy to remove unlike Max Factor that consumed me 2 cotton pads each eye just to remove it sometimes it exceeds 2 haha, but with Falsies 1 cotton pad each eye is enough.

The patented spoon brush fans out the lashes so it helps achieving the false lash effect but  it's hard to reach the eye corners using this brush and like the other wands it scoops excess liquid on its tip.

My expectations with this mascara was far more than what it can give, yes it makes my lashes long and bold but I was expecting more! I want a longer and bolder look like the effect that Max Factor used to give me, that is what I was expecting with this product. Anyways, though it lacks the false effect that it claims this mascara is still not a fail buy because it is way better than other regular mascara in the market. I can still recommend this if you are looking for a mascara that can hold a curl all day long and doesn't smudge.

My Very First Nail Art : Pink Flower Design

After a long break I finally found time to blog again yey! like what I've said on my last post I will practice doing a nail art so last tuesday since we don't have classes I grabbed the free time to play with my nails and video it. :) I tried a lot of nail art that I saw on youtube but I failed , they seem very easy but in fact they are really difficult especially if it's your first time to do it so what I did is to think of a concept that is very easy to do and I know that I can do. After an hour I finally decided what design to do and it's a flower nail art! yaay!

1. Cover the skin around your nails with a scotch tape.
2. Apply a base coat to protect your natural nails.
3. Apply a layer of white nail polish and let it dry.
4. After drying the first coat, apply the second coat of white polish to make it look opaque.
5. Apply a dark pink color or any color that you want as a background
6. get a toothpick or a dotting tool (better) and  using a light pink polish form a three petal shape on the corner of your nail.
7. use a green color and form the leaves atop the pink petals
8. dot a dark pink color on the very corner of your nail to form the center of the flower
9. apply a topcoat to protect the design
10 done!

products used:
LA Colors base coat
La Colors Pink
Sweet Cherry Polish white base coat
Sweet Cherry transparent top coat

OMG(Oh My Golly) Nail Colors : affordable nail polish

I was in SM Manila Department Store and looking for an oil blotting paper when I saw the rack full of nail polishes. I came closer to see the colors clearly and my attention was focused on this OMG(Oh My Golly) brand of polish. I examine the colors and picked which I like the most, initially I planned to buy just one bottle but I end up buying 4 bottles because I fell in love with 4 colors and can't leave the place without buying all of them, luckily they are affordable! one bottle cost me Php 18 only. :)
When I got home  a question popped out in my head - What am I going to do with these 4 nail polishes? Can I use them all at the same time? Then I instantly answered them, I am going to practice nail art with these 4 colors! :) Yes that's a great idea! I want to learn how to do a nail art since I was in high school but for some reason I haven't practiced doing it. I watched some nail art tutorials in Youtube and I was amazed with all of them, but one thing I noticed is that most nail enthusiasts use expensive but undoubtedly great quality polishes in doing their nail art. Before I thought of buying them too since those are what they're using but I instantly abolish the idea and told myself-yoohooo YOU.ARE.JUST.A.BEGINNER! yes I am a beginner and it's not wise to use polish that is worth a big fortune for a practice so I can live with my OMG for now.

This is how OMG nail polish looks like when painted on the nails:

I love this color, this is the one which is currently painted on my nails.

This one is an attention catcher!

Oooops the polish is kinda messy sorry for that, but this one is lovely it's perfect for those who wants a light but girly color on their nails.

This one is trendy.

The polish has a glossy finish and just like any other polish it has a strong irritating scent but anyways I still love it and I can't wait to use it for practice! :D

My Beauty haul

I was arranging my things and putting it to my vanity box last night and I was surprised to find out that I have accumulated a lot of products again hahahaha... Oh my this means I spent a lot again without noticing it! :( Anyways since I bought it all I cannot do something about it but to blog.
Of course my Asian Secrets products! If I remember it correctly these are the first products that I bought from this haul. I bought these last August 16 and I'm still not done with my green Bengkoang soap actually the soap is still big to think that it's been a month since I started using it, Wow right? If you wanna know more about asian secrets just visit my last post about it here Asian Secret Review.

James Cooper Compact Cream Foundation is such a great find though I've been reading a lot of blog post that it has a sister brand called Pinkie Swear which offers the same quality products but a lot cheaper than jazzy collection. Well it's hard to read those posts when I am actually refraining myself on buying things now that I had spent a lot. Here is the link about this foundation James Cooper foundation Review.
This product is the only one that sets my curls really well unlike mousse this one holds my curls until I wash it! I am yet to write a review about this one.

This is a cooling eye gel from the Body Shop. The reason why I bought it is because I want a relaxing eye gel for my tired eyes from not sleeping completely every night and it's on sale! From Php 395 they cut it into Php 195 but instead of saving Php 200 I think I got robbed by  Php 195 because I am not satisfied with the product. It is supposed to relax my, well it does but for a very short period of time! the effect didn't last and the skin around my eyes feels really tight.

These are Watsons Olive hand cream I bought it for Php 69 and it's buy one take one. The product softens my hand but it smells foul! It has a strong leafy scent which I guess comes from its main ingredient - olive.

This product is now a staple for me I use it everyday and night and over my pink lipstick :) here is my review on it Baby Lips Pink Glow.
I am supposed to buy the superfilm mascara but the SA told me that it is for volumizing only but I am looking for 2 in 1 -volumizing and lengthening. She recommended me the falsies and I bought it. :)

Lastly I bought earrings, these are from wellmason near Quiapo Church they cost below Php 40. There are a lot of design there that you can buy for a minimal price compared to earrings from the malls.

Finally I'm done presenting you my beauty haul, I hope you like it! :)

Maybelline Baby Lips Pink Glow

Recently Maybelline released their new lip balm called Baby Lips Pink Glow which is an innovative version of the original Baby Lips. This new lip balm gives our lips a surprising nice tint of pink that is really subtle and perfect for everyday use.

This is the packaging of Pink Glow it is the same with the Baby Lips' packaging the only difference is that it has a word GLOW on it, the design of the lip balm sticks are the same too but I gotta say that of all this one struck my eyes the most because of the good color combination of pink and gray.

The lipbalm is colorless but you'll be surprised when you glide it on your lips! Based on the product description it has a color-blooming technology that reacts with the unique lips chemistry to reveal a perfect pink glow so I have made a lip swatch to show you how this colorless lippie paints my lips of subtle pink.

The first one shows my bare lips you may notice that it's pale and dry but when I glide the Baby Lips Pink Glow on it it showed a tint of pink  and it was moisturized making it look supple and smooth unlike the first photo. Aside from the color wonder that it makes on my lips I love it's flavor too, it is mixed berry it smells really yummy!

I tested the promise of the product that it will give an 8 hour moisture so before I went to sleep I apply it on my lips, by the way it's already 1:00am by that time (yeah i know it's too late but I can't help it! it's TGIF). The next day when I woke up it's already 10:00am I grabbed the mirror near me and examine my lips, my inner goddess jumped when she saw that it still has a shade of pink! well it's not as bright as when I applied it last night, it is a faint pink color. On the moisture side, well it is a bit damp unlike my dry every morning lips when I don't use lip balms before I sleep and it still feels soft to think that I slept for 9 hours :). I guess the competency of this product is too much for a price of 99 pesos but it's fine who doesn't want a cheap but good product right? So girls better try this one it's worth every penny.

Just a tip, if you want a deep pink color then you may choose to glide it more than 2 times on your lips.
