Asian Secrets Lulur Whitening Scrubs and Bengkoang Soap: An Intial Review

    I know all of us want a glowing and soft skin that's why we use body moisturizer everyday but doing that without scrubbing your skin would mean spending money just to moisturize dead skin! We should always consider body scrubbing as part of our beauty regimen, exfoliating will allow moisturizer to fully penetrate our skin thus leaving it soft and nourished. 

            When I saw Asian Secrets on the market I smelled the three variants and I think the scent of the green one is the nicest but I think it's strong so I choose the purple one. I have read many comments saying that they can't stand the smell of the purple variant but for me it smells fine and not too strong. 
         
           Base from the packaging, In the royal palaces of Java, Indonesia Lulur is intended for bride-to-be in order to beautify, smoothen and whiten her skin before the wedding day. So I think it is really a must try , imagine Indonesian princesses are using it to beautify themselves! wow this product is royal!  

        I am morena and I love it, I am not really into whitening products but I have parts of my body which are darker than the rest like my elbow! aghh! So I think of trying this product, maybe this is all I need to get my skin even. I've been using it for two weeks now and I have to admit that this product WOWed me! It really does what it promised, after using it my skin feels really smooth and smells really nice. Oh I am thinking of using it everyday (some does) but I am quite worried that I'm may be over exfoliating which is not good because the skin will be more susceptible to damage from UV rays, so I am using it twice a week for my whole body and every other day for my dark areas. Well the product suggests to use it on the armpits but I don't! why? because I remembered Dra. Vicky Belo said on her interview in Salamat Dok that the underarm should be left alone meaning don't scrub it because the skin there is really sensitive, scrubbing it might make the discoloration worse. 

       
    Aside from the Lulur body scrub Asian Secrets has now the soap variant named Bengkoang Soap! By the way Bengkoang in Filipino is Singkamas. Bengkoang is also a widely popular whitening ingredient in Indonesia based on the package it can be found in the islands of Sumatra and Java whoaa Java is blessed with natural beauty products! As you can see above the soap has two types the green and the orange, well the two are both for whitening but they differ from the additional ingredient on it. 

           The green Bengkoang Soap contains Olive Oil to moisturize the skin and protect it form dryness while the orange one has Betel Extract which serves as an antiseptic, it gives extra protection from germs that can cause body odor. As of now I have only tried  the Green one and I'm looking forward on trying the Orange one and compare the two.

             That is how the soap looks like yeah I know it has a weird shape and the asian secret is carved on it but it smells nice and doesn't melt easily. I noticed when I rub it on my skin that it has some beads on it, I guess it is Lulur hmm maybe not, maybe it something else... I don't know hahaha! The Lulur body Scrub and this Bengkoang soap is really a great combination, lulur does a great exfoliation while this soap is great in moisturizing so after you walked out of the bathroom and dry yourself you will feel rejuvenated I promised that! 

           Final words: These products do an amazing job considering that it's not pricey at all, the Lulur body scrub big tub (250g) costs Php130 while the small tub (135g) costs 80 (only the green one is available in small tub the others are not), the Bengkoang soap costs Php 70. Just a few tip on using the soap after rubbing it all over your body don't wash it immediately leave it for few minutes this will make your skin softer after you wash. For now I can only rave about its moisturizing effect on the skin, and of course I am realistic! I know the whitening effect will take time to be realized I'll post the final review when I see it!  hmmm.. how I wish they have lotion too so that it is already a complete rejuvenating package! July 2012 haul (dollface, shampoo, maybelline, etc)

            I know month of July is already over but I want to share some of the stuffs that I bought throughout the month and share my thoughts about the product.  (sorry for low pic reso)

HAIR PRODUCTS:

     Palmolive brilliant shine shampoo! I have dull hair ever since I have it permed so I tried this product to see if it does wonder, but it doesn't! my hair still looks dull, oh well.. I should have bought Palmolive Intensive moisture (the pink one) again it is the one that does wonder talaga! it gives me really soft hair, so after I run out of this white one I'll immediately buy the pink one!

     I bought the Vitress hair coat and it has a free hair spa! I am a long time user of this product and It does a great job, it gives my hair the shine that I wanted. hmm, yet to try the hair spa!

MAKE UPS & BRUSH:

       

       Marionnaud Concealer Brush. Not the best concealer brush but it's decent anyway! it is soft, it is cheap but sometimes it is hard to blend using it and it is streaky!

       Maybelline Eyeliner! It cost me 150 pesos, It says it doesn't smudge but it does! after few hours it gives me raccoon eyes :(

 
        The previous products that I showed did not satisfy me but this one, this is <3. I love this product! I got this from Digital Traincase last July 13-15 Supersale bazaar.  It is silky, it glides smoothly on the lips, but once it dried it looks matte and it lasted for 4 hours before you need to reapply.

         Maybelline XXL Pro Mascara, I also got this from the last Supersale Bazaar, this is a nice mascara, it comes with 2 sides, the 1st one is white fluid it is used to set the curl of your lashes and the other end is the black one. What I love about this mascara is that it makes my lashes look curled though I didn't use eyelash curler but the bad side is it easily dries up inside the tube.

           DollFace 15 pcs concealer! Just like my NYX soft matte lip cream this item is <3. It has corrector and concealer in just one palette,  It has a great coverage it can cover my dark circle really well and my pimple marks as well, but the downside of this product is it melts easily, my face tends to be too oily after few hours.

In this photo I used NYX antwerp, Dollface concealer, MAybelline XXL Pro Mascara and  Maybelline eyeliner. 

        Okey again sorry for low picture quality, next time I'll use better camera na haha! Bye! :D

My Back to School Haul

      Hi hello there! It's been awhile since I last posted here on my blog, I don't know why but I can't bring up myself blog about things throughout summer, I'm just too lazy to do it haha! But since I'm on the mood now to blog then it will be great to share you my Back-to-School haul.

This is the Stradmore notebook that I bought yesterday which cover is made of foam and it looks really simple which makes it perfect for a college student like me. BTW its actual color is red orange not pink. (it looks pink in the picture)

My new 4 pairs of black foot cover, it has a silicon pad on the back part to protect us from having blisters.

     Oh I love having new shoes :) This medium heeled shoes with platform is from Rusty Lopez. If I'm not mistaken I got this for only 900 Pesos.

      I also bought makeups to be completely ready for school. So this is my new Maybelline Clear Smooth Extra Shine Free Powder Foundation in Sand Beige, I miss this product so much it's been a year since I last had this powder foundation.

       I can't be out of trend so I got this new product from Avon it is the Shine Attract Lipstick in Guava shade which is ideal for everyday use and school makeup. I got this on its intro price which is 259 Pesos with free pretty red bag :)

       Here's another product from Avon, it is the Smooth Minerals Blush in radiance which is a light orange shade. I got this on its sale price which is 199 pesos. 

       So I am finally ending this post I hope you had a great time reading it! My school officially starts its classes tomorrow! I am really excited, hooohoo feeling like a first year again haha!
